How to install Fedora linux to a flash drive with Windows

Here's a fun project for any linux geeks out there:

What you'll need:
  • 16GB Flashdrive
  • Copy of Fedora 11 or higher live CD.
  • VMware 6 or newer
How to do it:

  1. Boot VMware using the fedora ISO with the flash drive inserted.
  2. Once fedora boots, start the installer
  3. Set all your options
  4. When you reach the partitioner, make sure only the flash drive device is selected. Tell it to "use entire disk" and do NOT click on "review/make changes"
  5. Let it install.
  6. Once it is done, shut down VMware
  7. Reboot your pendrive and configure your computer to boot from it.
There you go! You should have it.
